A Meditation on Tactics ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My most practiced path is the hawklike swoop. Swooping is fun and easy,
unless the prey is not what one takes it to be. The prairie falcons
diving at my white bicycle helmet as I cycled across prairie backroads
were shocked to discover that this prey did something no rabbit could:
it ducked. I empathized mostly with the falcons, but didn't have the
luxury of ceasing to behave like a very creative rabbit.
