Hi Carolyn. The walk down paths previously taken was a great idea. One year ago . . . You mentioned (one year ago) that you maintain the public diary to "be in communitiy as a character". Does that mean you play several characters? If so, how do you choose the role? Is it chosen by the social curcumstance? (eg., business occaision, etc.) Or does the chemistry of the moment bring the role to the surface? Paul Tillich (Courage to Be) had much to say about roles and how we place ourselves in community. Give him a whirl if you choose.

I run into many cyberized folk who, alas, lack a pack of social skills. Brilliant in their own sphere. However, in my work, geekdom = dinosaur plight. The vast majority of the heritage language community are neophytes on the 'net. To gekize them would be a massive undertaking. To what end?

A language that they understand is not a language of intimidation or a condescending tone. The best teacher is the consumate listener. I try my best, with some success.

Enjoy the sun and, if diction ever needs a brush up, try:

I'm not a pheasant plucker--I'm a pheasant plucker's mate.
(repeat 5 times)

Take care.

Bill
