From: Randy MacDonald If _VirtualCity_ is behind them, I would say they're more
like the Golden Globes, those awards that outsiders give to people
in the industry. I don't know if it will ever be possible to
have an Oscars of Cyberspace, given that it will be essentially
equivalent to the Peoples' Choice awards. It certainly isn't
desirable, since there would be some sort of _Internet Academy_
to promote some sort of elitist hegemony. (now if it was made up
of APL users...)

They claim that the Cyberstar awards
are the Oscars of Cyberspace. I'm game.
