The demand that I do the same thing instead of making myself wonderful. It's us that make it, or break it. Not the other way around. It isn't a child. Actually, that's a good metaphor.
A child should be treated with respect. It should be given all necessary care, and as well a lot of voluntary care out of love. And it should be granted the room to err, to grow and learn on it's own, and within the contact of enlightening resources. Enrichment is not the same as training. Small parts of educating a child will include training, in part to inspire discipline and self motivation, and in part to pass on skill at an easily acquiring age. Several languages, several musical and artistic avenues, and several scientitific, mathematical and literary knowings. Classic greek. Lots of playing, I suppose physical stuff too. And lots of exploration time - free time, time alone or with friends, outside of the environment that is guiding.
The parents should be treated with respect from themselves. This person must be more responsible for themself than for the child. A great responsibility falls on each person in the world to look after the mental, emotional and physical states that make them up. It is not just me who lives in a cognitive landscape, all of us do. [My fingers are almost too cold to type here.]
