Subject: What to do with Steve....

An interesting question, to be sure. One that I think can be answered by asking another question. Are you happy with the way you are living now? Does it bring you pleasure and satisfaction? Based on what you have been saying in the diary I would say yes. The steps of moving away from Peter and gaining yourself some perspective space would seem to be good for you in many ways.

If this is the case, then I say tell Steve to respectfully drop it, that if you feel a need for help later one you will know who to contact etc... IE the usual niceties. I say this ebcause there is one thing that really irks me and that is someone telling me my lifestyle is bad, or wrong or spiritually unfullfilling.

For starters how can they know that? Never having yet met a telepath I remain fairly sure I am the best judge of my own happiness. I know I like the way I currently am living and am happy. Not completely happy of course, there are things I want to do and changes to be made. But in general I am happy.

Given that, then I look at these people trying to tell me I am not happy and I look for another motive. It isn't out of a perceived need to cheer me up or altruism. Usually religion figures in the background whereby the real the motive becomes one of them making themselves happier and more fulfilled in life - by saving someone else from the 'sins' of their life.

Anyhow to keep things short, I suggest sorting out why his comments hit hard. I must admit I cannot divine that from your diary, mayhap I am not reading it clearly enough. Once you have understood that you will be in a position to choose for yourself what is best to do with Steve's offer.
